MyMarket ZA ("we", "us" or "our"), operated by MyKasi IT Hub, provides a mobile marketplace connecting shoppers, sellers, businesses and job participants. This policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, when it may be shared, and the choices available to you.
2. Information we collect
Account and profile information
- Name, email address, user ID, profile photo, account role and membership details.
- Optional phone number, delivery or business address, seller or business details, and other profile information.
- Sign-in information received when you choose Google, Facebook or another supported authentication provider.
Marketplace content and communications
- Listings, products, menus, job posts or applications, descriptions, prices and other content you submit.
- Photos selected from your device or captured using your camera.
- In-app messages and communications between users.
- Cart, order and purchase history, payment status and related transaction details.
Location, device and usage information
With permission, we may use approximate or precise location information for nearby results and collection features. Our app and service providers may also process app interactions, diagnostics, crash logs, IP address, device or advertising identifiers, device information and app version.
3. How we use information
- Create and secure accounts, authenticate users and manage profiles.
- Operate marketplace, chat, ordering, payment, location and seller features.
- Display information you choose to publish or share with another user.
- Send service notifications about messages, orders and account activity.
- Measure use, diagnose crashes, improve performance and personalise the experience.
- Show personalised or non-personalised advertising, subject to consent and applicable law.
- Prevent abuse and fraud, protect users and comply with legal obligations.
4. Advertising and consent
MyMarket ZA uses Google AdMob to display ads. Google and its advertising partners may process device or advertising identifiers, IP address, approximate location, app interactions and diagnostic data for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. 5. Service providers and sharing
We do not sell personal information. We may share information as needed to provide MyMarket ZA, when you choose to publish or send content, or when required by law. Recipients may include:
- Google Firebase for authentication, databases, file storage, server functions, analytics, crash reporting and notifications.
- Google AdMob and advertising partners for advertising, measurement and fraud prevention.
- Google and Meta when you choose their sign-in services.
- PayFast for payment processing; MyMarket ZA receives transaction and payment-status information.
- Other MyMarket ZA users when marketplace features require sharing profile, listing, location, order or message information.
- Authorities or advisers where reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance or protection of rights.
6. Storage, security and retention
Information is transferred over encrypted connections and is primarily stored using Google Firebase services. We use reasonable safeguards, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
We retain information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. Limited transaction, fraud-prevention, dispute, backup or legal records may be retained after deletion where required or permitted by law.
7. Your choices and rights
- Review and update available profile information in the app.
- Withdraw camera, photo, notification or location permission in device settings.
- Change available advertising-consent choices in the app.
- Request access, correction or deletion of personal information, subject to applicable law.
8. Children's privacy
MyMarket ZA is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app or legal requirements change. The current version will be posted here with its effective date.
